How to Stay Consistent with Workouts During Summer—Even When Your Schedule’s All Over the Place

Summer is all about sunshine, slower mornings, and spontaneous plans—but that shift in rhythm can easily throw off your workout consistency. Between vacations, kids being home, and longer daylight hours, it’s easy to push movement to the 'later" or "tomorrow". But staying active doesn’t have to mean sticking to your usual routine. In fact, summer offers the perfect opportunity to reimagine consistency. Let’s talk about how to keep showing up for your body (and mind!) even when the structure of your week looks totally different.

Redefine What "Consistency" Means in the Summer

Maybe your usual workout time no longer works because you have kids home or you have trips away which disrupts your weekly schedule -- remember that you can be flexible. Part of having fitness as a lifestyle means that you can adapt. Roll out your mat for a family sweat in the yard or at the park & don't forget to bring Namastay Sweaty Club along - we have a large library of equipment free classes!

Leverage Shorter, More Efficient Workouts

Lean on Namastay Sweaty Club for our quick 30 minute workouts so that you have MORE time for quality time & FUN! Workouts the require minimal equipment (or NO equipment) really help with the ease of getting our movement in!

Plan Around Real Life

Take a look at your week ahead & schedule your workouts like appointments so that you feel connected to your movement rituals but not overwhelmed by them! I always prefer morning movement before the day unfolds & it often works better in the Summer when the days can be full!

Use Travel & Vacation to Refresh, Not Regress

SO important to know that you CAN take vacation without the fear of "falling off track" -- extra rest can be productive for boosting recovery! But also know that you can lean on Namastay Sweaty Club's on-demand class library or equipment-free workouts if you feel like sneaking in a sweaty 30 minutes while you're away! Staying active while away can look like exploring new hikes, walks, swimming & games with your family & friends!

Keep Your "Why" Front & Centre

Always remember why you move--for energy, strength, confidence, & mood. It's never a burden or a chore - it is a tool; Let Summertime enhance your motivation & feel good this season!

Be Kind To Yourself

Notice & observe your self talk -- remember there is no guilt or shame in this journey. You're not "behind" if things shift. Progress comes from persistence, not perfection. Enjoy the present & practice keeping a balance :)
